Will sound daft to all you 'old boys' but i'm a little puzzled by my 98 2.3 Ultima, it has all the usual ultima bits but has cloth seats! they are memory operated but if ghias have leather, shouldn't mine be leather too? however, it is white, Ex police possibly? although the history wouldn't suggest so.

Pretty sure leather was a cost option even on the Ultima !

Leather was a cost option even on the Ultima until near the end of production where it was fitted as standard to all models (trying to boost sales you think)? ;)

Is yours a 98 build or 98 registered? I have one registered on an S plate August 98 with a build date of June 96.

Plus theres always the possibility with cars of this age that the seats have been changed at some point ;)

Mine was a late '96 registered 2.3 Ultima and had raven velour seats, I liked them very much, better than leather. I think leather was another £370 or something in the paperwork I had.

So it was standard, at least in 1996 :)
