Title: Re: HEAD Gasket ! Post by Highlander on Dec 17th, 2007, 12:27am 24v isnt it Dan? Gasket sets on ebay for around £70 i think, its not too bad a job to do if you give yourself a weekend and take your time. Dunno what a garage would charge but it would likely be frightening :o p.s. whats your mechanic seeing to suggest the gaskets going?? |

Title: Re: HEAD Gasket ! Post by dan_the_man on Dec 17th, 2007, 12:33am I've had my matrix cleaned. he said there was a little oil in the water. I doubt he is skamming me. he charged me 20 pound for an oil and filter change with fully synthetic oil. I would struggle to get the oil and filter for that money. |

Title: Re: HEAD Gasket ! Post by Highlander on Dec 17th, 2007, 12:58am Yes but not on the cars at the minute :-[ I've spent the whole weekend (7am to 2am yesterday) fitting curtain poles, light fittings, towel rails, blinds, pictures, mirrors etc in a new house (you know the drill) ;) and much as i'd like to be out in the garage it would severely lower my life expectancy if i did so ;D |
