Now the ice has arrived with gusto my rear screen clears up fairly quick but my front takes that long that the demister vents seem to beat it. is the front a ford quickclear or did that only come in later models of fords (mine is a dec 98 ultima) relay is ok and fuses all intact ,maybe some elements are goosed i wonder.

Yep, elements probably, mine clears it probably in less than 30 secs
I have another one which clears the passenger side but not the drivers side, which is sod's law :)

need to get a new one on mine cos the nearside has a whacking big crack in it!
