Title: Differentials
Post by Big_Green_Tank on Jan 11th, 2008, 7:04pm
Are the diffs on our Scorps the same fitting as the older Granadas before
them?
Or are the mounts different?
I need to get one for my Beast as it has a bad bearing noise when going
around a right hand bend and roundabouts, it also clunks badly going into
drive and reverse with or without the brakes applied.
So as it is a 2Ltr 96 reg car that has done 180k I am not surprised.
I am only guessing but I bet there probably not a lot of oil in it!
Oh and does anybody know where there is a good one for sale or Free to a
good home!!!!

Is it like a grinding noise or a low squeak / squeal with the rotation of the wheel ?Only reason i ask is i had a squeal / squeak when going round islands & when breaking whilst reversing. Was told by 2 garages it was the diff but i wasnt convinced.Turned out to be a sticking n/s rear caliper which only presented itself when on right hand turns & reversing  :o :o

Deffinitely more a grinding sound that at speed sounds like as growl.
