Title: Re: electric fans Post by ren on Jan 12th, 2008, 9:25pm Simmo Thanks for that i had read that page and it deals with the 12v engine and from pics of 12v it seems they may have a bit more room to do that,im asking about the 24v cosworth if i remove the maf and engine cover does that give the room to change the fans, dont want end up damaging the rad. ren |

Title: Re: electric fans Post by Snoopy on Jan 13th, 2008, 8:14am Ren, the fans on the 24v are the same as the 12v and come out the same way, as does the radiator. Snoopy |

Title: Re: electric fans Post by davem on Jan 23rd, 2008, 2:29pm I thought the fan motors on the Cossie were low profile...well they are but they may also be on the 12V. Anyway, I have had the fans out loads of times in the Cossie (does that sound bad?) I can now do it in about 15 mins, without removing the radiator. 2 bolts secure it...one on each side and an electrical connector. The fan assembly comes out from the top but it's tight. |

Title: Re: electric fans Post by ren on Jan 23rd, 2008, 9:54pm It is tight, havent managed to do it yet keep getting caught on the top hose one way and the oil cooler pipe the other way, going to wait till the matrix is done, coolant emptied then remove top hose. Davem as youve taken the fans out so many times, there is two plastic clips on top of fan houseing do these fit over rad to help support weight on the 2 bolts. |
