:'( have tried the reset procedure but it wont go beep, any suggestions?

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins and try again... MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RADIO CODE.

sorted the problem, it appears i was'nt turning the key fast enough  :-[
