Title: Max typre zize on non-cossie alloys?
Post by chrali on Feb 28th, 2008, 5:30pm
Hi Chaps,

I'm too skint to buy some cossie alloys, so I wondered what the largest tyres are that would fit on the standard 1995 12v ultima alloys.

I'm not really fussed about corning, comfort is a priority, so not keen on lower profile more expensive tyres.

I just want to fill out those arches a bit, as the 205 tyres look totally lost.

The 12v had 195/65/15 fitted as standard and give a good ride along with longevity if you buy premium tyres such as Michelin.

I think (not certain) that the 12 spokes have a different offset, the phonedial alloys do look totally lost under the arches after the 12's (maybe someone can confirm whether this is right).

12 spoke alloys are the biggest styling improvement you could make to a Scorpio IMO, they suit it so well :)

Okay I'll admit it, I was being tight.... I guess I'll have to go to 12's after all.

Not sure about the offset on scorpio alloys, but i know that Mondeo 12 spokes DO have a different offset.(Because they are front wheel drive ? ? ? )
