Just ordered some new front suspension bushes from my local FMD - guy asks for the reg number, taps it in to his computer and says ' Oh, that's a rare one !' Why ? I ask and he says it has a 3.91 rear axle ratio instead of the normal 4.27.

Anyone comment on this ?

I reckon the 2.3 has a 3.91 diff,the 2.0 16v has the 4.27 and the FMD gent no doubt is trying to blind you with suspension bush science !!

I know that the 2.0 and the 2.3 both 16V share the same differential:

Just found out..... the manual is wrong

The correct ratios are:

2.0 EFI 115 hp 4.09
2.0 16V 136 hp 4.27
2.3 16V 147 hp 3.91
2.5 TD VM 3.36
2.9 12V 3.64
2.9 24V 3.64

I reckon that table could just be misprinted as it does'nt show the 3.91 diff at all !
