Title: 2.5 TD'98 -needle lift sensor Post by Guenter on Mar 13th, 2008, 5:10pm Hey there! I tried a search, but could not find any related topic. My problem, or more exactly one of the problems is: 1.) i read on my notebook: P1225 as so called "needle lift sensor" fault , this is the right interpretation -right? The car does accellerate, but under idling it sounds battly -it does more "shake" than idling. So i guess the timing reference from first cylinder is really out of function? I have disconnected the wiring, as i fitted a complete new steel gasket under all cylinder-heads. What i didn't now is: On witch pin /connector comming from the engine bay and towards to this conector near (or under) the injection pump can i measure if there is a broken wiring or not. 2.) problem: i have vacuum comming from the vaccuum pump. But both -the turbo wastegate and the exhaust gas recirculation are not active. I think the turbo wastegate should be closed (by vacuum) under normal conditions. And it does only open if the ECM said it is necessary -right? So the question is are my conectors located to the right solenoids, or exactly (as both not working yet) - can i measure that there is some current flow to the solenoids? I have sen the "Wiring loom Diagram" notice on the main page. But i can not identify the right conector/pin to measure . All i know it must be one of the round/oval type in the side of the engine bay.... . sorry for bad english ;) |

Title: Re: 2.5 TD'98 -needle lift sensor Post by Guenter on Mar 21st, 2008, 7:45pm update: problem with turbo-wastegate actuator solved! One of the vacuum solenoids has failed. I use now the other one from the EGR-valve. So I've got EGR-codes, but that's not important. ;D The needle-lift sensor code is still present! And that's what i want to clear. What type of sensor is it in the first injector ? An inductive one ? And witch pin on those round type engine loom connectors is it ? |

Title: Re: 2.5 TD'98 -needle lift sensor Post by Tyler4 on Mar 21st, 2008, 10:05pm Hi Guenter You will find 3 multi pin plugs/sockets under the AC pump. You are looking for C132 Pin 8 Orange/White Goes to Pin 12 on PCM Pin 12 Black/White Goes to Pin 11 on PCM C132 Male goes to the injector Female goes to the PCM Good luck - Tyler4 |

Title: Re: 2.5 TD'98 -needle lift sensor Post by Guenter on Mar 22nd, 2008, 10:16am Thanks! That C132 is one of the round/oval type sockets in the engine bay, right?! I have only two of them, so can't be to complicatet to find :) By the way-i have not an AirCondition (climate control? )- pump. But anyway, to find out if "male" or "female" goes to the pump side was the biggest problem (its an old police-car, some of the wires are a bit 'wild' :-/ Many short cuts, blind ends and so on ... . I try that after easter weekend an post the resistance/or voltage reading. |

Title: Re: 2.5 TD'98 -needle lift sensor Post by Guenter on Mar 29th, 2008, 12:59pm update: as advised, have it tested and yes there is no interruption from PCM to C132. And also up to the top of the injector. So i think it is time to change the injectors (a local Auto-Parts store offers them in exchange base). The new injectors have also a new sensor fitted. The engine has an unknown history, and i guess it is in the car since it comes from production line. It has now more than 260.000km -so time for maintenance, anyway ... ;D |
