Title: Radio questions Post by trol on Mar 17th, 2008, 5:36pm What is the Radio Interface Module, what does it do? And what does the VSS when it's connected to the radio? There's no radio in my Scorp, I have the cables and panel for an non Ford radio but the VSS and RIM will not be connected. I don't know if I should buy a Ford radio or put in the Kenwood I already have. |

Title: Re: Radio questions Post by Matt on Mar 17th, 2008, 6:43pm the Vss will only be for the automatic volume controll feature, (the faster you go or more noise in the cabin the radio will increase or decrease in volume) i think the RIM is the steering columb controll (small yellow plug) this can be made to work with the kenwood radio you have but you'll need to buy a couple of interface moduals from a audio shop |

Title: Re: Radio questions Post by trol on Mar 17th, 2008, 9:02pm Hmmm, I can buy a 5000 with steering control, which is not there in my car, but I have the yellow plug hanging behind the radio. The previous owner fitted another steering wheel in the car, so there should be a loose plug behind the steering wheel? Also yellow maybe? |

Title: Re: Radio questions Post by trol on Mar 30th, 2008, 5:28pm Fitted the Ford radio with column control today. The column plug was where it should be.... in the column ;D The RIM wasn't in my car, luckily I got it with the radio. After a long search I found the RIM plug nicely tied up behind the gauges in the dashboard :P Finally there's music in the car:) |
