i need scorpio 2.3 i 16 v engine...i found one ''ford granada scorpio 2.3''
are these motors same or not...i send mail seller but he not write clearly...thank you for help

Oh the irony!

If the engine is for a mkII Granada, then no, it's not the same and wont fir your Scorpio (well it might, but not in the way you're thinking). They didn't dor the mkIII's with a 2.3 irc.

I'm pretty sure the mk3 didn't come with a 2.3 (only 2.0, 2.4, 2.8 and 2.9 iirc), so if it's a 2.3 for a scorpio, it should be the same.

The engine code is Y5A, but I can't remember where it's stamped.

the 2.3 5YB is a inline 4 .old 2.3 is a V6,if you nead a good 2,3 5YB we have one .sounds like you no live england ??

yes,you are right ,i am from Turkey...i bought car but i have no idea its 2.3 5YB or not,because i have no handbook.i bought from custom.How can i learn this?
is it writing on engine?

How many cylinders does it have ? (count the spark plugs if it,s easier).A 4 cylinder engine is what you are looking for.If it is a 6 cylinder then im afraid it wont fit.Hope this helps.Regards .....Craig :)
