Hi Guys, car going for service and MoT tomorrow so thought I'd do some checks.

Had a look underneath the car and there appears to be oil on the nearside CV boot and around the bush on the wishbone. CV boot appears to be ok with no cracks and the oil doesn't drip on to the drive but it does appear to be quite wet to touch and very black.

Any ideas what it could be? Can take pictures if needed.

If you mean the outer CV, then it can only be a leaking CV boot. If the inner, it could be some weepage from the diff seal.

It's the inner one, half on show and the other half hidden under a tray. Does a leak on the diff seal indicate a serious problem potentially? Or is this normal? Car's only done 60k miles, all fairly easy ones from what I can gather.

Well she passed! No advisories either :) Even commented that he hadn't seen a cleaner Scorpio than mine for many many years! ;D ;D

Well chuffed. He wasn't sure about oil leak but said it's worth taking in it back so they can clean the oil and check after 2 days worth of driving to see where it's coming from.

Is the 2.3 known to leak oil from the rocker cover gasket or from a particular pipe or seal?

hi there

the 16v engine has a habit of leaking into the sparkplug holes.
