Title: mondeo cent locking
Post by teaboyterry on Apr 9th, 2008, 3:14pm
Hi guys, got a problem with my other halfs car, hope you can help !!
Car is 2.0 Mondeo lx1999, recently the central locking suddenly stopped working, i replaced batteries but no difference, finally discovered fuse had blown and replaced.
remote lasted two openings before blowing again, so far i have replaced the fuse 8 times.
Now as well as fuse problem o/s rear door modual will not unlock at all and has locked in the dead lock position so cant even open from inside
Any ideas on how to open door to replace modual would be greatly appreciated.

If you can get inside then open bonnet and disconnect battery, maybe the locks will revert back to not double locked, otherwise I don't know, FMD probably will...
Or Mondeo user club?

Pete

Terry. I had a similar problem with my wife's' Focus. Replacing the fuse got the system working so I could open the door and after that a liberal dose of WD 40 on the rear door locks sorted it. I THINK it is to do with one of the door modules going out of sync' putting a strain on the system thus blowing the fuse. I had the same symptoms as you in that the door would not open even from inside but once the fuse was replaced it did and I b....y soon opened it before the fuse could go again. HTH.

Thanks guys, I will try disconnecting the battery over the weekend and see if the dead lock function is reversed.
