Title: Hub carrier differences Post by Robiko on May 6th, 2008, 11:32pm Are there any significant differences between a hub carrier for a 12v (£42+vat) and a hub carrier for a 24v (£110+vat)? Or is this a case of Ford sticking a designer price on a designer label? (Reminiscent of the 2.8i Capri fuel pumps at £90 a go, whereas the exact same pump, but ordered for an XR3i cost £30...). |

Title: Re: Hub carrier differences Post by Matt on May 7th, 2008, 5:32pm i believe the diffrence is the locations for the 24v's larger disk breaks, you could fit the 12v ones but may find the calipers wont fit over the disks |

Title: Re: Hub carrier differences Post by Robiko on May 19th, 2008, 4:12pm After a little trial and error the difference is that the mounting arms for the 24v hub carrier are longer to take into account the larger vented disc...still a bit of a price hike though for a couple more inches of cast iron (or whatever it's made from)... ;o) Pay attention you kids out there, here's what happens when you don't fit rear bearings properly: http://www.robiko.co.uk/beardam.htm |

Title: Re: Hub carrier differences Post by ScorpioWorld on May 21st, 2008, 9:20am the 24v hub carriers are the same as sierra 4x4 rs cosworths. So as they have that 'RS' name they double the price. |
