Thought I should share this - was having a problem with the passenger door map pocket falling off. You may know that it's basically held on with two screws at the ends in the bottom of two deep plastic tunnels, and then into the door. However if it's dropped on or kicked the tunnel ends may break off, end up looking like plastic washers. Gluing is never strong enough (these had been glued before and still came off).

I considered getting a new one but Trevor at Fordpartsuk said there's none in the UK so he'd have to get it from Europe and it would be about £85. OK so still worth a repair attempt then if possible!

An attempt to attach something over the ends with jubilee clips didn't work either. Finally I made little brackets from 15 x 20mm extruded alu angle like you can get from e.g. B&Q. Use same screws in same positions, but require firm attachment to the top surface of the moulding, hence the little M3 screws on top.

Screws could be neater if countersunk with cup washers(?)

Looks a fairly tidy answer to a common problem,it's usually the drivers side that pulls off.
Should you feel in need of a passengers side one,there is one here I would'nt hurt you for.

looks a nice tidy fix, btw what happened to the carpet on the bottom of the door card ???

Er - no idea! Sorry can't answer that one! Now I'm going to have to look at the driver's side to see if it's the same

(forgot to mention the small screws have nuts and washers other side. Not too fiddly but good and firm)

Another way to do this invisibly is to get some bits of rubber tube cut to about 7 or 8 mm and slot them over the screws. When you tighten the screws the rubber tube is compressed and grips the side of the slot like a rawlplug. Don't tighten it too much though as it could cause the slot to crack.
I did this in my last car and will be doing it again soon cause mine has gone too. :-/
No one can see any screws doing it this way....

excellant. :).if i see them in scrapyards i like to get a couple of pairs of the door pockets to put in the loft..and fit them when its needed. :).regards den.

Both sides are the same! Rear doors have got them though
