Hi, has anyone out there have a rear shocker (96 saloon) off the vehicle , if so would you be able to measure eye to eye when its at full legnth and eye to eye when its fully depressed, would be very greatful as it would mean i would'nt have to remove mine, many thanks, jim.

Hi Jimmy....would I be right in thinking that you are wondering whether estate springs will fit okay with your current shocks ?

If so, then then the answer is yes......
..... I fitted a pair of estate springs to my saloon & they sit fine with the saloon shocks. But you'll have to unbolt the shocks at the bottom to remove & insert the springs  :)

Apologies if this isn't what you were getting at  :)

Hi gozz, thanks for the quick reply and info.

jonnycab, i was wondering about going down the air levelling shocker route but i might just go for estate rear springs and spring assist pads.

Wise choice  ;)....as I'm not sure the self levelling shocks will fit in a saloon being that it's a different set up....

......saloon shocks are mounted behind the springs & estate shocks are mounted inside the springs. So the only way you'd be able to get a pair of self levellers to fit a saloon, would be to replace the radius arms with those from an estate  :)

Jim.
Monroe Loadleveller kit LA 355 is fitted as replacement on nearly all my funeral vehicles as the Ford mighty priced ones wear out.Mine however have the Ford self levelling system fitted with level detector and compressor as factory fitted. They would fit yours, but you would need to put the inflator valve and gauge into your boot.
