That page doesn't list all the alloy options......many Scorps had 15" 'telephone dial' or 15" 'fan' alloys :)

not listed for the scorpio (but i have seen them in an accessory catalogue).

mondeo 96-00

4/d door saloon/hatchback 1024808 (6.5"x16")
5 door estate 1024804 (6"x16")

Surely the mondeo is front wheel drive the offset will be all wrong, you could use wheel spacers, but your stressing the hub, don't fancy that at a 140.

scorpio 4 stud and mondeo 4 stud are both 49.5 offset (turbo) alloys off a st24 mondeo will fit a scorpio

I read your post an ran out the front door to have look, yer right they look like fwd.ed offsets. Perhaps Ford were thinking of provisioning for a 4x4 version. 8)
