hi, i am wondering is it normal for the drivers door lock to lock with the key and not unlock with the key?. i have to use my plip to open the car.. the central locking all works fine but none of my keys will unlock the drivers door, my old scorpio did the same thing?.. any ideas please..

Either the locks are original and the ignition isn't or other way around . NEXT scenario is they are badly worn or even need some lubrication . Try the key in the boot and the passenger door .
otherwise it is quite an easy job to rebuild the locks . I think a complete set comes in at about £50 or did do when I last enquired with trevor .
Try reading LOCKS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlockbld.htm) it might help

Any Ford key of this type irrespective of it's cut will lock any Ford car,but not unlock it.As Snoopy says to rebuild the lock to your key is not difficult(apart from removing it from the car)

I have the same problem!! ???

I've only had the car a ciyple of days and it will only open on the drivers door, using the red (I thought 'master') key.

I was told by the previous owner that the problem had developed following a jet wash, although I'm not sure.

I don't have a 'plip' either, which leads me to think the locks are different too. Re-build of locks it is then....
