Title: autobox problem
Post by solarpanel on Jul 26th, 2008, 9:59pm
my son has a 2.3 and it doesnt lock up torque convertor.
what actually controls the lock up the torque convertor or electric, are there any know solutions.

does anybody know if a 2.9 cossie a4lde 96 will fit a 2.3 on a 97 with a a4lde box, is it a straight swap or do things need changing

any help would be good.

I believe the2.9 Cossie auto gearbox ( NOT the 2.9 12v ) should fit OK if you change the torque converter housing over as it would have come from a V6 and is going on a 2.3 4-cyl engine.

Why will the VSS need changing they are the same for ALL the models AFAIK its the drive inside the box that is different .
