Title: Retrofitting aircondition possible? Post by faffi on Sep 8th, 2008, 7:50am Hello! I wonder how much work is involved if I want to fit airconditioning to my 2.3 base model? Can it be done without ripping out the dash? If all it takes is fitting the parts in the engine bay - which should be a simple bolt-on, or? -and switching the control module, I will consider that over replacing my car. Mine is a manual version with only 80,000 miles and has been very well maintained. It also lacks just about every "goodie" apart from adjustable headlamps and a heated front shield, so there are less things that can fail ;) But with the summers getting hotter, aircondition is a must! |

You would need an evaporator in the heater box, this could be a little tricky to fit,to say the least.Although I am not a defeatist,I reckon you would be better off with another car. There are many gooduns about at very little money.
