after fitting the automatic gearbox i found out the clutch is ruined aswell. so does anyone know a website where i can get a new one? i've checked on ebay but only found manual ones.

Consult an auto gearbox specialist - don't think recond TC's are not that expensive  :-/

This was a 12v Granada you have wasnt it Wayne?

yea it's the 12v.
i dont think the problem is with the torque converter.

I'm not understanding this Wayne, you dont have a clutch in an auto box, the torque convertor does the job of the clutch.

Have you no drive? is that the problem?

no drive, there's plently of oil & the pressure is fine.

Did you sort the selector problem from your other post??

Its not broken or misaligned?

yea i sorted the selecter, it's definetly the TC.

The Torque converters are prone to stripping the internal splines, a rebuilt converter will cost you between £80 - 130 from any good auto specialist.
