key remote seems to need new batteries but why will the key lock and unlock passenger door but only lock drivers door thought i was locked out this morning

hi there

ALL keys will LOCK the car, but only the right key will UNLOCK it.

maybe the lock was changed at some point in the past.

Unless the lock is badly worn .....that can cause the symptoms you describe

Same on my Scorp, it was a pain until I got the remote.

My partners BMW had simular problems as well, some time the key worked fine, another time she got locked out or the stearing lock would not release, it was really frustrating, in the end just buying a new key resolved the problems, and she has never had a problem since. the key had just worn out with use.
