hi i am still looking to get a scorp.
not sure what to choose i dont want the 2.0 so was thinking 2.3 but would like more power. dont want the cossie as its auto though...... ???
does the 2.9 12v have an auto box too ?
if it does would i be better off with the 2.3 and have you guys ever modified it to get more oomf so to speak.
also should i consider the TD how do they drive and could i get more ooomf out of that engine by modifying it ? help please guys

Just another question, whats a 2.3 bhp and torque cantr seem to find it on the site

Really depends on what you need - the 24v Cossie if you want performance, the 2.5TD if you want economy. Most diesels are manual, autos quite rare as only available in the last few months of Scorpio production.
What do you have against autos ?
I was finally 'converted' some years ago. ;D
All 2.9 12v & 24v have auto boxes as standard - although a few manual conversions have been done.
2.3 16v can apparently be modified for more ooomph by fitting RS2000 camshafts and having the head skimmed.
2.0 16v & 2.3 16v are all available with manual or automatic gearboxes.
2.0 8v I think was only available with manual transmission although I could be wrong.

I have 2.3 16v auto and am very happy with it. 8)

dont want an auto as i like a bit more control over the gears and i will be taking it onto the track

has anyone ever put a turbo on any of the engines ?

Now, no offence intended (and I love my Cossie and think the handling is really good for a big car) but I think you've chosen the wrong car to take on a track.
