Title: Centre Face Vents
Post by RON on Feb 11th, 2009, 9:23pm
Hi There,
I was wondering if anyone in the forum can help me with this problem I have. I would like to know how I can get the front fascia off as I would like to renew the foam on the vents as the draught is driving me mad.....I've seen this on the forum, but it doesnt explain how you get to these vents without breaking everything lol...
Many thanks in advance.
Ron

RON.
In the morning, the guru of all things,SIMMO,will undoubtedly appear with your answer. It's a rather extended fiddly job,but there will be details somewhere known to Simmo I'm sure.If the worst comes to the worst,I'll try to remember the last time I had to do it  ???

RON, the details of how to remove the fascia are HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/fasciabulbs.htm). Also look at the 'button' marked dashboard removal on the left hand side of the page. This is a pictorial record, albeit the car is LHD.  Once the vents are accessible you will see the mechanism and of course the flaps. Take care throughout as the whole lot is plastic and will not put up with force.  BEFORE you embark on this are you sure you cannot simply direct the air away from your face using the directional vents and closing the internal flaps ?. IIRC with aircon/climate control there is always air to the vents.  ;)
