Hi Guys can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the 2.0 for a 2.3 is the wiring the same manifold gear box etc. The car is 2.016v estate gearbox up the shoot .

Thanx for the response....I want to change the engine and gearbox...going up from 2.0 to 2.3.....are the looms the same or do we need to modify the electrics big style?????

hi there

what are you asking? are you changing the auto box from a 2.0 to the 2.3 'box?

if so, then it will fit ok. you need to change the vss over as the speedo will be out a bit.

I thought the 2.3 autobox had one more brake band than the 2.0 autobox.....could be wrong though :-/

hi there

yes, the 2.3 does have 1 more band. the bigger the engine, the more band in the 'box.

so going from a 2.0 to a 2.3 is ok.

I think it's extra clutch plate/s not bands ;)

If it's a 2.0 16V then the wiring looms are the same as the 2.3 as far as I know.

Apart from the 2.3 having a different inlet manifold, throttle & air trunking then there isn't really much else that is different :)......The 2.0 inlet manifold etc will still fit the 2.3 though, but the vacuum pipes will have to be modified slightly.....& you'll probably have to replace the ECU as well ;)

you'll need to change the diff at the same time as well.
