Title: Re: current flow to a diesel injector Post by gozz on Mar 5th, 2009, 10:48pm On some petrol engines the injectors are operated via a ground signal from the ECU and have a permanent live when the key is switched on,a sensitive meter could show a small voltage on the ground side.Diesels I would not be too sure on,but the principle would be the same on an electric injector in both I would have thought.A VM expert will pop up I'm sure. GOZZ. |

Title: Re: current flow to a diesel injector Post by eff511 on Mar 5th, 2009, 11:42pm the vm expert is what i am hoping for or someone just to do a check on another 2.5 td i managed to do it as i do most voltage tests is by separating the plug connection and popping wires into the one end and the other end of these wires i have i have put small insulated crocodile clips which you can clip on to the pins and then test from there hope this might also be a useful way of testing for others instead of stripping wires or trying to pierce the wires cheers kev |
