Hi all.
Does anyone know anything about a black box attached to my right rear lights wiring call a flash master.

I'm wondering if it's something to do with my tow hitch, and the reason why the caravan rear right indicator doesn't work.

Sound about right Jim. I should imagine it's the junction box for the 7 pin socket on your towbar, OR could be a bleeper which sounds when you indicate with the caravan electrics are connected

Ahh that might explain that :D but i don't suppose you know how they wire up, as my mate pulled the wires out ???

Assuming it is to do with the towing hitch try having a look at THIS site (http://www.towbarsrus.com/bar-tow-wiring.htm) and see if that helps. :)

If you read through the above thread, this would appear to be a similar problem & it also incorporates a Flash Master - which would seem to be a bleeping thing

Hi all.
Thanks for the help. I'm still a little confused with it all, but i think i'm getting closer to the electrical problem.
Ive tried testing the Flashmaster black box and there seems to be plenty of live and earth, but in the tow bar plug seems plenty of live and earth except om the pin for the right indicator. So i think there is a short between those two points. A broken wire or a burnt end. I'm not an electrician so it's taking some time for me to figure.

I'm back down south working at the transmission firm for 3 weeks and staying wiv my son in law. Sorry to hijack yr thred and I hope you get yr car sorted, but been up the pub tonite... ;D ;D ;D

Theres a dirty ole bird across the road in a block of flats wiv no clothes on, standing in her kitchen window.......is she a flash master??? ???

Thank you all for your help. With the aid of the light from my moblie phone and after cutting the tow hitch bolts of and stripping the wires and starting again, i have found that the Flashmaster ( Black box thing Dave) lol was wired up wrong.
Changed it all the wires around, cust alot and hey presto the tail lights started working. ;D
