Title: Seatbelt Light on Dash Flashes Post by freerein on Apr 3rd, 2009, 10:35am Hi guys I have had a look around the site but not found info(could be me being blind though) I noticed last night that the orange seatbelt light is flashing - it has been happening for a while and I just thought it was random however last night i noticed it appears to be a fault code? Based on other lights flashing info. It flashes once then maybe 5-10 seconds later flashes once again and this repeats Anyone got any ideas? Many thanks |

Title: Re: Seatbelt Light on Dash Flashes Post by wojtekor on Apr 3rd, 2009, 11:16am I don't think Scorpio's had seatbelt warning lights. My doesn't. It sounds like you're talking about the airbag warning light. 1 Flash Drivers airbag failure - or open circuit to airbag (check mylar clockspring connection) 2 Flashes Passenger Airbag failure - or open circuit to airbag 3 Flashes Failure of both airbags 4 Flashes Pyrotechnic seatbelt pre-tensioner failure (Either side) 5 Flashes Drivers airbag failure - System shorted 6 Flashes Passenger airbag failure - System shorted 7 Flashes Drivers crash sensor failure 8 Flashes Passenger crash sensor failure |

Title: Re: Seatbelt Light on Dash Flashes Post by wojtekor on Apr 3rd, 2009, 11:31am no airbags at all?! seatbelt pre-tensioners are also connected to the same module as the actual airbags. |

If it doesnt have an airbag then someones removed it or its not a Scorpio ;) Airbags have been standard fit on the Ford range since 1993 If the code is 1 flash then check the drivers clock spring first. remember to disconnect the battery for a good ten minutes first before you start dismantling it, I wouldnt imagine an airbag going off between your legs as you take the steering column to bits is particularly good fun ;) |
