I know i have " blonde" moments, soooooo............... Every day this week i have been trying to check the g/box oil level but get a different level every time. Im going through the motions as explained in the hand book but to no avail. so if you bear with me i'll explain how im doing it & sit back & await the p**s taking to come pouring in ;D ;D ;).
I check it when i get to work which is a 20 min journey, so nice & warm then ::)
I select P when im in my space, then pull the lever back to 1 then 2,3,D,N,R,P.
Then from P i go backwards through R,n,3,2,1.
Then finally go from 1 through 2,3,D,N,R & back into P.
I then leave it 60 seconds & check the dipstick. I give it a good 5 seconds in each gear before moving onto the next one also.
I know it's a daft question especially as i've driven autos for the last 15 years but this is the first time i've had a problem checking an oil level :-[ :-[.

it sounds like you're doing everything correct, as advised in the manual.... how big is the difference on the dipstick?
