Post by sierra20 on Apr 19th, 2009, 7:50pm
does any one know roughly what i would be looking to pay to have my condensor, one of the bottome pipes and recharge on my 2.3 ultima, i am getting a quote from the garage i use, but would like an idea if anyone else has had it replaced so i can make sure im not getting ripped off

with new parts?? are they damaged?

I'm pretty sure a new condenser was £150 a couple of years back.

Kwik fit are doing aircon recharge for £45 so I'd reckon you're looking at £300  :-/

thanks for the advice, i would change it my self, but the system needs to be drained first, the will need to be put on a vacume after and recahrged, so i may as well get the garage to do it.
also is it best to change the receiver dryer as well whhile they are at it?

Yes but that'll be done (or should be done) as part of the aircon recharge anyway so dont let them charge a lot for fitting it.
