Can anybody tell me where to look for the engine number on the block of a V6 cosworth?????

hi there

the last bit of the VIN number is the engine number, if that any help.

not sure where it is on the block, though.

It is in two places:
on the drivers head just by the PAS pump & on the back of the engine block.

wouldn't have thought they'd be on the head but i'll check tomorrow as i've the engine out.

All of them have them on the block at the rear on the flat bit probably rusted so you can't see it unless you clean it.
Later BOB's also have it on the drivers head.

& BOA's sometimes have the name of the engine builder from the Cosworth production line on the back to :P

in that case i've probably found it as i've cleaned it and painted the block, think the enginr must have been changed then as its not the same as the end of the chassis number.
