Picked up a new fuel filter for the Cossie today from FMD.
Had a quick glance in the engine bay and at the fuel pipes, but no sign of where the filter is located.
Checked on the site but gives limited info on location.

Anyone, know where it lives?

Also, am I right in thinking the fuel system must be depressurised before removing the filter?

Is the best way to remove fuse number 42 and then start the engine until it stops x2. This in theory should allow the pressure to have dissipated.

I take it you have read THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/fuel/general/FuelFilterPRepl.pdf). Can't speak for the Cosworth but on the 2ltr it is adjacent to the tank in the fuel line towards the nearide of the car. It is a simple job once the car is raised.

Thanks Simmo, Yes i had already seen the Pdf. It doesn't show me where it lives.
Will have a look adjacent to the tank on N/S.

Its on the off side about between 1-2 foot forward of the tank. Fairly easy to remove but be prepared for a little fuel spillage.

All mine are on the nearside ( left hand ) near the fuel tank,they have a clamp band round them and bolt to the floor with one 13mm bolt.The pipe couplings are quick release (slide off) and require two little tangs pressing in,but slide back on without doing that.

I always found them on the NEARSIDE ( Passenger ) NEVER on the OFFSIDE ( drivers) .

You must all be right - God only knows what I was thinking of ??? - I must be getting close to that funny age when the mind wanders all over the place and sometimes gets completely lost ::) Holiday needed soon

Repalced the filter today and indeed it is at the rear N/S. ;)
