hi,i have just purchased a 24 valve ultima,yesterday to be precise and whilst giving it my first proper drive the radiator has give up,can anybody tell me whether the 12valve rad is the same or not,many thanks boycey.p.s its the rad nearest the front of the engine.

the 12v is different yes, the 24v rad is a one off.

personally i think there is a design fault with the 24v radiators.

What I and a few other have done is to fit the rad from either the 16v auto or the 12v.

The only "problem" with doing that is that the 24v coolant reservoir has a third top hose which goes to the top of the 24v rad, the others only have two hoses.

What i did was to fit the reservoir from a 16v, someone else just blocked off the third hose.

Mines has been running nearly 4 years now on a 16v rad with no problem, is is smaller and has thinner vanes but works fine.

Or you can source another 24v rad, new ones are over £300 i believe and I would be looking for a whole Scorpio for that!! ;D

hi boycey, will be breaking 24v cossie in a week or so and it has a nearly new rad. depends if you can wait for it. Darren, cornwall
