Title: Re: Key- Remote Post by Simmo on Jul 25th, 2009, 7:30am My understanding is that ONLY the original fobs will work on 'our' cars. There are identical LOOKING fobs to ours which do not work and I have yet to learn of the type of key shown actually being used by anyone on the site. I see it is listed as being compatible but equally that the seller does not guarantee it and advises caution pleading little knowledge of programing. :-/. Additionaly if your key doesn't work you'd be well advised to sort that by either a new key or a lock re-build kit before the remote fails and you are locked out!. Details of lock re-build are Here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlockbld.htm) ;) |

Title: Re: Key- Remote Post by wojtekor on Jul 25th, 2009, 10:07am yep, only the original Scorpio fob will work. the one from ebay won't. if your aftermarket system has an option for boot opening you can plug it in... if not there is a good chance that it will be cheaper to get another aftermarket keyless entry system with boot opening then a Scorpio fob... |

Title: Re: Key- Remote Post by Gazza_UK on Jul 25th, 2009, 10:09am [] I like the GET out CLAUSE and puts the BLAME back on to the BUYER " I am not a reprogramming expert, (BUT HE GOES BY the car key shop ) buyers should research reprogramming second hand keys before buying, auto electricians or auto locksmith's are a good place to start. I am happy to answer queries but I not sure how much help I will be." Go for this as we know these work http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-KEY-FOB-KEYLES-ENTRY-KEYFOB-REMOTE-SCORPIO-TRANSIT_W0QQitemZ170362633491QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item27aa677d13&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1121%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 |

Title: Re: Key- Remote Post by Simmo on Jul 25th, 2009, 9:32pm Be ABSOLUTELY sure this is OK. ???. We have had people buy Transit ones which LOOK the same BUT are NOT compatible. I'm not sure this will do both. :-/ Better still check out THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=admin3;action=display;num=1248551009) in parts for sale. ;) |

Title: Re: Key- Remote Post by gozz on Jul 25th, 2009, 11:23pm Sometimes it is found that proper Scorpio remote fobs are fitted with one 2032 battery which gives poor performance, presumably because, although they are thick enough to make contact 3 volts is insufficient. The correct installation is a pair of 2016 in series, they are thinner but fit in nicely and obviously give 6 volts.
