hase any member replased the front crank seal on a 2.3 ford dont sell just the seal you have to buy the front cover at £61 plus vat

Buy the front cover ?....Do you mean the lower timing chain cover ?  :-/

I had the front crank seal on my 2.3 replaced by the local garage a couple of years ago (didn't fancy doing it myself) & it was only the seal they replaced, the old cover was put back on with a new gasket  :)

Best go to a bearing factor and get a seal to match.

my local A1 motor stores have front crankshaft oil seals,i replaced a front seal in a friends 2.0ltr sierra only a few weeks ago. :).

not sure if its the same, but 24v front crank oil seal is the same as my mk3 cortina 2ltr pinto. know this cause ordered 1 for each car, when they came both the same and they both fit!!!!!!!!!

dont believe fords epc the seal is sold sepretley under part no 1669254 but at £16. .beter still buy a 56 mm od 42 mm id 7 mm wide seal at £4.be worned if the belt comes off it can go behind the crank puley then pushing the seal into the timing chains .
