Title: Re: oil Post by tonyboy on Aug 19th, 2009, 9:40pm MAF is the Mass Air Flow sensor, it's situated just after the air filter. Keeping this clean can solve a lot of proplems.....http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cleanmaf.htm |

Title: Re: oil Post by gozz on Aug 19th, 2009, 10:39pm lamjed. I am currently using 5w30 semi synthetic in my 12valves,10w30 was the old recommendation, but factors now list the former. As the lads previously stated, the 12valve engine which is the old Granada Cologne lump operates on EEC4 power control module and has distributor ignition, therefore it has no MAF meter. If you are doubtful as to the condition of your engine oil ie whether or not anyone has bothered to change it for years, you should get 5 litres of flushing oil, drain your old oil when hot,put in the flushing oil for 10 minutes at fast idle, then drain it and put in fresh oil and filter. The amount of filth that is released is incredible,in fact the colour resembles that of a diesel engine. GOZZ. |
