Title: Fitting a new stereo
Post by kim on Aug 26th, 2009, 7:31pm
Have just found and bought on eBay item no. 130327082080 escort fascia  double din filler From cougar_store  that fits straight in to my Scorpio to enable the fitting of a modern head unit. Looks good and has a handy CD holder built in. I bid and got mine for £6.45 inc p+p . The buy it now price is £6.99 + p+P
The reason I'm changing is to move on to USB input,all my music on one 10gig data stick. Also to get rid of the annoying base clipping of the original 7000 unit.
Will try to post pics when I have finished . Kim 8)

Hi I bought the same facia myself a few weeks ago along with a new iso adaptor for a pioneer with usb input.

Looks great but if you want a tip it is worth glueing some thin black rubber or felt on the inside of the cd holder compartment (on the bottom rear half so it is out of sight) to prevent the cd's slipping out under acceleration.

All I need to find now is an adaptor to fit the steering column stalk.

Hi i have had a look for you as well ....pioneer is a hard one to find . found control stalk converters for Sony, clarion,blaupunkt and Panasonic see eBay item 370093909223 and go to shop http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/thompsonsltd/ and there will give you a start with all the key words to perhaps find what you need.
Having seen whats about for the 7000 conversion wise I now have a better Idea on what brand of head unit to buy  Kim  :)

If you think the Pioneer is hard to find, try finding a JVC  }{
