Will the steering wheel stalk work with a 5000 series radio. my 1997 24v had no stereo or stalk fitted I have got hold of them but I dont know if it wont work because I have fitted the 5000 stereo or if the control module for the remote is not there (any idea where the control module is located).

The radio stalk module is mounted below the steering wheel, you need to remove the lower fascia. On a LHD it's towards the console, assume it's mirrored on a RHD.

the wires from the stalk go into a small black control box its that i cant find the plug for. judging by the length of the wires on the set up i got from scrap yard it could be up behind the dash but i cannot see it.

Same question. I have 6000 CD and 2.3 Ghia 96'. There's connector under the steering wheel, but will it work if I set up the remote stalk (there's one on the the scrapyard near me)?

I also need Remote Interface module. That's ok. I can get it.
But I cannot find the connector C529 ???

The wiring diagrams show that the wires (1 black and 5 black-reds) goes directly to Radio interface module via connector C529

Here's my connector on the steering:

Fitted a 5000 in mine as fed up up with 7000 blanking out, just did a straight swap no cutting or adding took all of 5 minutes, all owrks 100% from the stalk.

The problem is that my car doesn't have remote stalk "by design". But it have necessare connectors: one is hidden inside the steering (on photo 1), and there's a connector that goes inside the Radio.
So I just want to set the remote stalk as an additional feature to my car. I'm just not sure if Radio Intrface module is fitted, and if not - where's the connector for it (it must be).

same on mine i have fitted the stalk but the wires for the control module seem to go up behind the dash. I dont want to remove the dash if i can help it any ideas where the plug is located?

Spent a couple of hours making radio removers :) Finally took out the Radio and could not find any sing if theese wires behind. I even unbend the facia a little - but still no luck.

I don't see other ways than removing the bezel. Oh, how I don't want to do it !

But I have an idea: i'll try to short the pins and chek if it works  (I still hope thad radio interface module is hidden somewhere :D)

Tried connecting pins - no luck. Well, will wait until have time to remove bezel and look under it where the wires from C552 go to  :-/
There cirtainly must be connector for radio remote interface somewhere!

i have traced mine up behind the dash board but no sign of connector C529 any where. i am thinking of taking out the dash or trying to find one in a scrap yard where i can pull it out without so much care. the conector must be there somewhere

plug C529 is cable tied to the wiring harness directly behind the rev counter the only way to get to it is to remove dash surround and the instruments just plugged my interface module in and it works perfectly

Bought stalk and interface module from spares. Connected them - and it DIDN'T WORK :(
The stalk works fine. I tested it with multimter.  So I don't know if it's interface module or radio.

What kind of signal should go from interface module to radio? Can I test it with multimeter or I need oscilloscope?

Is it correct part number for interface module?

It can be either, the radios + interfaces changed in 9/95. So if you have the earlier interface with a newer radio it might not work I guess. There is some info about this in the guide here: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/2006upgrade.htm

It should only be the interface. It seems the stalk to the interface was unchanged.

I have a yellow-labeled module  95GB 18A810 BC (FINIS 7272138)
My car is 10.1996, so it seems I need new blue-labeled module: 95GP 18A810 AB (FINIS 7272139)

The bad thing is that I don't have the new one here in spares :( (at least there're only 2 old modules in the stock of the greatest spare seller here, and both are old ones. Other spare sellers don't have an internet side, so I cannot find them).
E-bay items don't deliver to Russia (I hate this country for that)

Do you know if the old one can be converted to a new one?

I have no idea. But you could find them on ebay occasionally, or check if a forum member has an extra.

You could check with www.teroanttilaoy.fi, or FPUK too.

Seems to be a kind of data bus, not just the voltage levels. So have to find new module :(

Most sellers just assume the item will get sold locally. Very often in this case I just ask for a shipping quote and only a small amount of the sellers refuse selling abroad. Private sellers are usually more flexible.

With buypartsby.co.uk it is just about luck. One day they sell outside UK, the other day not.

YES!!!!

The one from mondeo 1996-2000 (which is 97BP 18A810 AA) works!!

Now I have full control over my 6000CD from the steering  ::)
