Title: Fuse Box Problems
Post by jon_viola on Oct 10th, 2009, 1:46pm
As you know i've been having many of them! Have bought a s/h fusebox from Familyguy (Thanks!) and installed it. Now my car won't start as it has no glow plugs- the light doesn't come on the dash at all-  The fuse box was from a 2.9- is this a problem? I did add a glow plug fuse but left some of the relays as they were the same colour. The car now turns over much better and does not seem to be shorting as it was before but i can't get it started.

Any ideas?

BTW I've just taken the old one apart to see what condition it was in and the amount of verdigris just on one layer and around the outside was astonishing- someone must have left the bonnet open. Suffice to say it's now in the bin!

I have bought a fuse box of someone off the site before, and asked the same question. and he says that all scorpio fuse box's are the same  ( drivers side box )...........

the owners manual will tell you but from memory its drivers side, and one of the yellow relays towards the rear.

other thing to checks is the bus bars have been put back it the right places, again the owners namual should say

i'm sorry I don't know what a bus bar is! the drivers side fuse box I haven't touched and the car was starting ok before! I did swap over the yellow relays's but to no effect- is there anything I can do to get it started?! at least then I can get it to the local auto electricians!

So, looked again at my fitting of the fuse box and realised i'd made a mistake. Re-fitted and alls now fine, except the battery wasn't charging! fitted new altenator and alls now finally working although the oil feed valve is leaking. Anyone have one?

Thanks for all your help guys.

cheers

adly no, it's one of the feeds off the alternator? I was in a rush and got a local garage to do it for me as I needed the car today/tomorrow and they reported the problem to me. The rocker cover's also leaking quite badly. is that an easy job?

Do you have a known turbo actuator on your breaker? don't think mines holding boost at all, was really struggling on motorway hills today...

the turbo is shot on my engine thats why im breaking it, the rocker cover gaskets are easy though, unbolt the header tank and remove the 4 screws (2 of them are combined nut/screws that the header tank fits on) and pull off the breather at the rear and its off!

Is your actuator ok? my turbos fine I think just won't hold boost so well...

Could you have a look near the alternator for me as well for this "valve"?

cheers
