Title: What car DO I have?..... Post by londonajay on Jan 3rd, 2010, 9:45am I just can't work this out anymore...This is now doing my nut in as the more I learn about the scorpio, the less I know about my car!! LOL Confused? Me too... I thought I had a 16V DOHC Ford scorpio Ultima saloon, it states in my V5C that it is a Scorpio Ultima 16V 1998CC but as I read through the site it seems that I should either have a 2.0 litre 1998CC 8V engine or a 2.3 litre 16V with a higher CC value? Please help shed some light on this! Thanks - Ajay |

Post by Matt on Jan 3rd, 2010, 9:59am your correct their is a 2.0 16v, its a very simmilar lump to the escort rs2000, the 2.0 and 2.3 look simlar, they have the same rocker cover for a start, clues between the two are for one it will said 2.0 on the spark plug cover, and the main difference is the intake system, the 2.0 is an ally intake, where the 2.3 uses a crap plastic one exhaust manifolds are the same you can make a hybrid out of the 2 engines and stick the 2.0 top end on a 2.3 block, makes a very nice engine indeed! i converted a 2.3 estate i had once, made it go a bit, shame i had to get rid of it :( |
