Title: Alternative radio for Scorpio Post by mondeoman on Jan 22nd, 2010, 9:11pm I've got a Ultima with a 7000 series stereo with CD changer in the boot. I've seen a few 6000 series units which look a similar size and claim to be CD changer compatible on ebay. Will these fit straight into a scorpio and work with messing without messing with new leads etc? Since it's got a CD instead of a tape, how does that work if you also have a changer in the boot? Any sound difference? Should I be better getting a 7000 replacement? Cheers |

Title: Re: Alternative radio for Scorpio Post by Chieftain on Jan 24th, 2010, 6:34pm Personally I picked 5000 unit works a treat and to me the sound it fine, others I know will disagree. Managed to get one with the wood trim that matches the rest. So pleased I even put one in the good halfs escort as her 7000 had the dreade blank screen I think it is very much "horses for course" on this subject. |

Title: Re: Alternative radio for Scorpio Post by mondeoman on Jan 26th, 2010, 7:30pm I take it they did not do a 7000 series in wood? Is the 6000 series Changer compatible model as good with the sound as the 7000? |

Title: Re: Alternative radio for Scorpio Post by Tons_of_fun on Jan 26th, 2010, 8:04pm Hi Simon. There is very little, if any difference in sound quality between the 6 & 7000 series head units ( both have built in amps ). Yes they did do the 7000 with a wood finish, but they are quite rare & dont come up too often. When they do appear they fetch good money :-/. Still have the poor display problem though !!! |
