Title: 7000 Radio
Post by Tenfut on Feb 2nd, 2010, 1:53pm
Good afternoon all

I have just purchased a spare 7000 radio.

Can I test it without fitting it into the car,
or if not, how easy is it to remove the existing radio?

TIA

Tenfut

To remove the radio you will need the correct tools. Have a look at This site (http://www.radio-release-keys.com/?gclid=CMrr7M2I1J8CFVBd4wodYWSTbw). The ones you need are at the top of the page in the form of an upturned 'U'. People have used bent coat hanger ;). Essentially they are pushed in to the holes on either side then pushed outwards which releases the clips allowing you to pull the radio forward. If you want to try the radio with all the connectors fitted then I guess thats the way to go. ;)

Thanks Simmo

Bought the release keys from Halfords today.

Will attempt radio removal and subsequent
test on Saturday Is it adviseable to disconnect
the battery?
