a friend has a scorpio. Hi is trying to install an alarm unit just to be able to lock the doors with a remote (something happened to the original remote - lost it or something).
the question is, where is the central locking unit on the car?
any help is appreciated.

Above the ECU under the glove box,best get a proper remote fob,he may end up wishing he hadn't messed it about ::)

[] If it's just that the remote has been lost or broken, it'll be easier to get a seconand one and reprogram it, the instuctions to reprogram are available if required.........

since he already has the unit, will see if we can make it work, but if not then, will have to take the easier way out ::)

I seem to remember that an ex member ( woj ) put a post on here about fitting aftermarket alarms, but i can't find it. anyone remember that post..........

Note reply 1 by GOZZ and take heed!!. If you read the post by 'Woj' you will see that he didn't do it he copied it from another, foreign, forum. History tells us that aftermarket alarms are often the source of problems on these cars.

thanks for pointing it out. I understand the risks, that's why I will only fiddle with the central locking bit. I'll try to send the lock/unlock singnal to the unit and that wil be that, hope it will work like that.
