Title: Possible matrix problem
Post by lleewar on Mar 3rd, 2010, 8:51pm
Hi All, is there a cleaning agent that can be used to flush the heater matrix? I think I have a blockage as the temperature seems to be taking ages to get up on the dials and the output seems to have dropped. I also have a curry smell but lo and behold there are no leaks in the usual places. The smell does dissappear after a short burst of air though. i have topped up the header tank so water is going somewhere. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.  Lee

Have a look at This post (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Advice;action=display;num=1238544915;start=0#0) by Tompion which has a set of photos showing the construction of the Matrix and why flushing is usually ineffective. I have 'locked' this post so the photos are retained.  ;)
