Title: heater matrix Post by pedropedro on Apr 9th, 2010, 3:36pm probably obvious, but unless you ever set the temp to "Hi", if using climate control, you can never ascertain the condition of the matrix as the blender is mixing cold air and it is never "hot". When the matrix blocks you therefore have no warning if you set to "hi" periodically when idling and fan mid speed vents should be hot ie over 50 C.. if i had done this a year ago i would have been able to gauge the matrix's condition possibly maybe doing this would give some warning then flushing etc could save it possibly before it blocked completely fortunately I was able to rescue mine recently, for the time being anyway..used forte flush ,,then back flushed matrix then used forte conditioner....hope above of some use |

Title: Re: heater matrix Post by Jonnycab on Apr 10th, 2010, 3:58am Good advice I reckon.....regularly check that it can still blow nice & hot, even in summer http://smilearchive.com/s/cwm/cwm/wink.gif I wrote a similar post a couple of years back.....HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1200189375) http://smilies.blazemint.com/s/contrib/sarge/TheSmile.gif |

Title: Re: heater matrix Post by pedropedro on Apr 10th, 2010, 9:16am Didn't realise you had already picked up on this......its not obvious... as most folk leave heater at whatever 23 and it just puts out blended warm air and matrix could be on last legs and still archive 23. as you say even in summer check the matrix by turning to "Hi" I reckon if spotted early it could be cleared a lot more easily |
