Title: SCORPIO 24v ESTATE TAILGATE SPOILER
Post by hopper on May 14th, 2010, 9:07pm
Hi,

Has anyone fitted a spoiler to the top of the estate tailgate, if so is it a Ford part, an aftermarket part or a part for another estate that has been adapted?

Regards hopper

I seem to remember a few years ago that someone adapted a MK1/MK2 Mondeo estate tailgate spoiler by adding a section in the centre to make it wider.

Ford didn't make a genuine spoiler for the Scorpio Estate (they didn't make hardly any modifying parts to be honest) so the only way is to adapt and overcome!

Hi Baz,

Thanks for the info, I'm also been looking into an Omega tailgate spoiler as it is a similar width and shape also.

Regards Chris

I adapted one from a Honda Aerodeck estate to fit my old Granada estate. It really was a labour of love & had more fibreglass than original plastic. Mondeo ones, believe it or not are actually too long, so have to be shortened ( piece taken from  the middle & re joined ). The problem with the Scorpio tailgate is it,s 'narrow shoulders' ( tapers in towards the top ). I did toy with a Rover 25 spoiler but gave it up as a bad idea. If you do find one thats close take a piccy & post it. Im sure there are a lot of estate owners who fancy a bit spoilerage :-) :-)
