Hi, i have just got back from 10 days abroad, and i cant get into my 96 Ultima, the fob has stopped working for some reason, and the key wont unlock it, any ideas would be most welcome,

Send a PM to Snoopy. Whilst waiting for a reply try any other keys you may have. Have you tried the passenger door or the boot ?. Do you normally rely upon the fob?. If so try a drop of WD40 in the locks as if they are not used they will sometimes stick.
The 'workings' of the lock are shown Here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlockbld.htm). You could also get another key cut in the hope that it will activate the lock correctly if your current one is well worn.

The car's radio receiver for the key fob is turned off after 150 hours to conserve battery life. That's slightly > 6 days.

Another reason why you mustn't totally rely on the remote if the keys don't work
