Title: Re: side indicater lens Post by Tons_of_fun on Aug 8th, 2010, 6:40pm Hi rich. If they are kite marked, then yes they are legal ( not that anyone checks ). As long as they show an orange colour when in use your sorted. To remove....... Press the indicator towards the wing whilst moving the lense either to the left or right ( they can go either way ). As soon as you apply a little pressure to the plastic lug at the back of the lense pull towards you ( a long thumb nail is handy ). Swap over the bulb, re connect the fitting & fitting is the reverse of removal. I had clear indicators on my white estate & they looked fab. Really made a differance. Dont forget to post a pic when fitted ;-) |

Title: Re: side indicater lens Post by gozz on Aug 8th, 2010, 10:52pm I don't think side indicators are needed under the auspices of British law at all, where the vehicle is less than 6 metres in length. But I am remembering this as an HGV oprerator of yesteryear.Times change !! GOZZ. |

Is that why most taxi drivers don't use indicators ;) |

Title: Re: side indicater lens Post by Highlander on Aug 10th, 2010, 9:39am As long as they flash the right colour and you can actually see it flashing its ok ;D |

Title: Re: side indicater lens Post by Mike H on Aug 10th, 2010, 11:06am Quite right, but seems some MOT testers are confused about the cut-off date (or even that there is one!), if you look at some of the stories in those google links; e.g. one guy's told he's got to install new ones onto his series 3 landrover or it will never pass, as someone else said that would make it no longer mint original cos they're weren't ever supposed to have 'em in the first place! |
