Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by Highlander on Aug 18th, 2010, 5:25pm The front shocks/struts are different so i would assume the springs are although dont know for sure. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Advice;action=display;num=1233422433 |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by gozz on Aug 18th, 2010, 7:42pm On the Granada hearse by Coleman Milne, the lower two coils of the rear springs were touching together so that the vehicle stood level rather than back up,that would be an easy way, clamp em together and apply localised heat to one coil. GOZZ. |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by martin_rowe on Aug 20th, 2010, 4:55pm LESJOFORS make a spring kit for scorpios. lowering will increase neg camber at both ends causing accelerated tyre wear. |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by scorpio_man on Aug 22nd, 2010, 9:01am hi there is it an estate that you have? if so, you can't lower an estate as it has self levelling rear suspension. re the front height level. you need to give it about a month for it to reach it's full drop. hth |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by Matt on Aug 22nd, 2010, 9:59am I got mine here http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/category_results.mhtml?category=hrsprings;car=fordscorpio;manufacturer=hr;sub_category=1 estates have different rear setup to the saloons but i believe that so long as the self levelling system wasnt fitted (was an option) then juts just a normal trailing arm setup so should be lower-able the drop should be instant but the handling characteristics will take a while to settle down, |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by gozz on Aug 22nd, 2010, 10:41am mrham. Estate rear springs have a bigger diameter than the saloon and therefore are not interchangeable. You would need to obtain standard shockers to alter the ride height on the estate. GOZZ. |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by mrham on Aug 22nd, 2010, 9:02pm hi, mine doesnt have self leveling.just normal shocks front n rear, have found a set for an estate as like gozz says they are bigger on the rear. just got save up again as they are double the price lol. oh well |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by Highlander on Aug 22nd, 2010, 9:23pm ALL estates have self levelling rear shocks, they were offered in the saloon as an option |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by Highlander on Aug 23rd, 2010, 1:37pm No, completely different, they are a one off which only fit the Scorpio estate. I didnt know there was a non self levelling option available?? |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by mrham on Aug 23rd, 2010, 1:59pm they look like sierra ones,2 17mm bolts hold them onto the lower arm and one 19mm nut holds it in place through the body sorry for the stupid questions lol |

Title: Re: lowering an ultima Post by Highlander on Aug 23rd, 2010, 2:46pm I think a bit of the confusion comes from the earlier Granada system (which was also fitted to the Scorpio saloons as an option) and the likes of gozz's Coleman Milne funeral vehicles which consisted of an air compressor and pipework to inflate the shocks |
