I remember reading an entry about installing puddle lights in the doors, but cannot find it.
Can anybody point me to it?

Excellent service sir! I know I'm thick, but how come I couldn't find it? Is there a search facility anywhere?

Jeff the answer is yes. There are two. Go to the Ford Scorpio 'Banner' at the top of the page. Click on it and you will go to the front page. Scroll down and there is a search box at the bottom. Insert for example 'Kerb Lights' and up will come any info. Secondly there is a 'Search' button at the top of forum pages. Click on that insert the relevant word(s) and un-tick any boxes which you dont need. Put a number in the 'Days' boxes and again click on search. That system searches the forum pages rather than the main site. :)

Seems like the biggest problem is getting the return connection to the door switch.

BTW I think a 1N4001 diode is too low current IMHO, it's only rated at 1 Amp. 3 Amps would be better
